For the past decade, Gnaw Their Tongues has been a reference point of how to combine the darkest elements of industrial and black metal music, while creating something quite unique. Genocidal Majesty, their forthcoming new album, represents an evolution in the band’s sound, with the more traditional metal elements moving to the background in favour of something noisier, harsher and bleaker than ever. The idea that Gnaw Their Tongues could become noisier, harsher and bleaker may come as a surprise to those who have been following them, but, rest assured, the envelope continues to be pushed. At the same time, there is an undeniable musicality to the tracks that has always elevated GTT beyond the status of one more dark, noisy artist with metal influences. There are more electronics present than ever, and a focus on developing the sounds themselves.
But we’ll let you judge for yourselves, because today we have the premiere of “The Doctrine of Paranoid Seraphims”, the new video from the album. The track features vocals by Chip King (The Body), one of two songs from the album on which he appears.
“The Doctrine of Paranoid Seraphims” video is by DFM of F Squared Media, and is his first collaboration with Gnaw Their Tongues. The prolific video artist has worked with Sutcliffe Jugend, Trepaneringsritualen, and Dive, among others.
Genocidal Majesty will be available February 1, 2018 from Consouling Sounds (CD and vinyl) and Tartarus Records (cassette version).
