From the ancient Norman capital of Rouen comes Malemort, an anguished howl from the primordial ooze, in the tradition of beloved acts like Highgate and Corruption. Their debut album, Individualism, Narcissism, Hedonism comes out later this month on Prison Tatt Records. The word “debut” might be a little misleading here, because Malemort are by no means beginners: the band includes former members of Sordide, Ataraxie and Monarch. The album is vividly described as “Four blistering songs to peel the paint off your flat walls, just under 60 mins. of music.” If that whets your appetite (which it should), enjoy “Worthless Breed”, the lead-off track, available exclusively here.
NOTE: This track has been compressed in order to accommodate our upload restrictions here at HH. It is not a proper indication of the sound quality of the original recording.
Individualism, Narcissism, Hedonism is an audio cassette that comes in a glossy, double-foldout insert, strictly limited to 100 copies, and as a digital download. It will be available through Prison Tatt (website and Bandcamp page) on August 16th. To celebrate the release, the band is playing a show that night at le Gibus in Paris with Cough, Monarch, and Witchthroat Serpent.
