Documentarian Beth B has recorded the lives of the hugely influential New York music scene for forty years, and her work has been celebrated at film festivals and art galleries around the world. In what can only be seen as a union made by punk rock gods, her latest project is a feature film on the controversial and iconic icon Lydia Lunch. There is perhaps no woman who has remained as vital, as resilient and as determined as Lydia, and there is certainly no better person to chronicle her journey than Beth, her longtime friend and peer.
Production has already begun on the film, with in-depth interviews with the grande dame of no-wave, as well as others she has influenced and inspired. However, the filmmakers have started an event on Kickstarter in order to raise the funds necessary to complete the project. Rewards for donations included everything from autographed postcards and access to exclusive content to lunch with Beth and Lydia and even an executive producer’s credit.
