Fresh from the charnel house of Cold Spring comes Extinction the latest release from Common Eider, King Eider, the long running doom/ drone/ ambient collective offering “modern manifestations of ancient energies”.
Common Eider, King Eider have been releasing music since 2007, however Extinction marks their first album on an international platform. The San Francisco-based band is a collective of artists who have worked with many other bands in their time. Together, they create a hypnotic, mystical tempest of sound, filled with ghostly incantations, melancholia and intense swells of drama.
We’re pleased to present the exclusive première of the title track from Extinction, an exquisite taste of what you’ll find on the full album. Per the artist, “Extinction” is “an extended ceremonial rite conducted below ground at the Wisp House (R.I.P.); a suite of psychedelic devotionals assembled from reverb-drenched industrial drones, billowing clouds of metallic throb, and churning, rhythmic bombast.”
The album is available now from Cold Spring’s online store and will start shipping on Monday. Highly recommended music from a band that is finally reaching a broader audience.
